Arc United to conduct conference in Breezy Point
The Arc United will conduct a two-day conference Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, at Breezy Point Resort for parents of children with disabilities, direct care providers, professionals and self-advocates.
Presenters include Colleen Weick, executive director of the Governors Council on Developmental Disabilities; Jayne Spain, Minnesota Department of Education; Anne Roehl, University Institute on Community Integration; Pam Chmielewski, Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome; and many others.
Topics include Transition, Guardianship, Special Education, Support Services, Special Needs Trusts, Personal Care Attendant Services, Mental Health and much more.
CEUs for educators and social workers are available.
Registration is $90 for two days or $70 for one day, which includes materials and meals. Reduced rates are available for self advocates as well as scholarships for parents and self advocates. Scholarships are made available with funding from the Minnesota Governors Council and Developmental Disabilities and by the Arc United Thrift Stores in Bemidji and East Grand Forks. Registration deadline is March 20.
