Kenmare man killed in accident near Flaxton

FLAXTON, N.D. -- A Kenmare man was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle accident near Flaxton, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Jeffery Odom, 58, was traveling west in a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup on 100th Street Northwest, about two miles south of Flaxton, when he struck the right side of a 2006 Volvo semi truck driven by Steven Foster, 59, of Jamestown, who was northbound on 78th Avenue West. Both streets are gravel roads.

The pickup pushed the semi into a ditch, where both vehicles came to a rest. The accident occurred about 4:15 p.m.

Odom was wearing a seat belt and his airbag was deployed. Foster was not wearing a seat belt.

Odom was transported to a Bowbells hospital. The report did not say whether Odom died at the scene or at the hospital.

Foster was uninjured and his trailer received minor damage.

The accident remains under investigation.
