Bundle up for Crosslake's 11th annual Winterfest

The 11th annual WinterFest in Crosslake will be Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 30-Feb. 1, featuring a wide variety of activities, including SoupFest and the sale of $5 wristbands for discounts from Crosslake area merchants.

On Thursday, Jan. 30, the search for the lost medallion begins. Watch for three clues, one posted each day at participating businesses, the Crosslake Chamber Welcome Center and at www.crosslake.com. Find the medallion, hidden someplace in Crosslake, for a prize package worth hundreds.

On Friday, Jan. 31, there will be a beer and wine tasting at Barstock Liquor; a carnival for kids at Crosslake Community School; a wine tasting at Andy’s Bar & Grill and Wine & Spirits; a number of all-ages activities at the Crosslake Community Center; and evening entertainment at Pine Peaks Event Center, The Wharf, Manhattan Beach Lodge and Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant & Bar.

Saturday, Feb. 1, highlights include a pancake breakfast, helicopter rides, SoupFest and radar runs.

Following is the WinterFest schedule of events:

Thursday, Jan. 30

Begin search for the lost medallion.

Friday, Jan. 31

3-5 p.m.: Beer and wine tasting at Barstock Liquor.

4-6 p.m.: Cabin Fever Carnival at Crosslake Community School. Kids’ games, bake walk, food and fun. Meet Bobber the Water Safety Dog.

5-7 p.m.: Wine Tasting at Andy’s Bar & Grill, Wine & Spirits.

6-8 p.m.: Celebrate WinterFest at Crosslake Community Center. Horse-drawn wagon rides, Zambelli Pyrotechnics fireworks display, warming house open with coffee and cocoa, pond skating, snow mountain, music by DJ “JP,” bonfire and s’mores and Crosslake Fire Department fire truck display.

Friday evening entertainment:

Pine Peaks Retreat and Event Center – live comedy with Scott Hansen and Jimmie “JJ” Walker. Shows at 6:30 and 9 p.m.

The Wharf – evening bonfire and DJ music at 8 p.m.

Manhattan Beach Lodge – karaoke at 9 p.m.

Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar – DJs JP and Chad at 10 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 1

7:30-11:30 a.m.: Crosslake Firefighters Pancake Breakfast at Crosslake Lutheran Church.

11 a.m. to dusk: Helicopter rides (weather permitting) at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar.

Noon: 11th annual SoupFest tasting begins at Andy’s Bar & Grill, Wine & Spirits; Bourbon Room Saloon and Eatery; Crosslake/Fifty Lakes American Legion Post 500; Home Interior Supply; JAG Interior Solutions; Judy’s House of Gifts; Lake Country Crafts and Cones; Maucieri’s Italian Bistro; Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar; Moonlite Square; Riverside Inn; The Crossfire; The Wharf; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway; and Zorbaz.

Noon: Bake sale at Crosslake/Fifty Lakes American Legion Post 500.

Noon: Bocce ball tournament at Riverside Inn.

Noon: Ice car racing on Big Pine Lake at The Cedar Chest.

Noon to 2 p.m.: Kids’ games at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar.

Noon to 3 p.m.: Yard games, bonfire and s’mores, coloring contest voting at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Campground and appearance by Bobber the Water Safety Dog at 1:30 p.m.

Noon to 3 p.m.: Indoor snowball throw to win drinks and appetizers at Andy’s Bar & Grill, Wine & Spirits.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Rock the box indoor and bonfire outdoor at The Wharf.

1 p.m.: Italian outdoor Olympics at Maucieri’s Italian Bistro.

1 to 3 p.m.: Bar bingo, afternoon beach bonfire, ice skating and tiki bar at Manhattan Beach Lodge .

1 to 4 p.m.: Radar runs on the Bay at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar.

3 to 5 p.m.: Beer and wine tasting at Barstock Liquor.

Saturday evening entertainment:
