Sheriff’s Department

ACCIDENTS: Report on Jan. 14 of a property damage accident at Washington Avenue and Main Street in Pequot Lakes.

Numerous reports of vehicles in the ditch, motorist assists and property damage accidents due to icy road conditions.

BURGLARY: Report on Jan. 16 of a burglary on the 7000 block of Salty Dog Trail in Nisswa.

FRAUD: Report on Jan. 16 of check forgery in Merrifield.

Report on Jan. 20 of unauthorized debit card use in Merrifield.

Pine River Police Department

THEFT: Report on Jan. 18 of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered and one person arrested in connection with the crime. A number of vehicles were entered and items taken. Two suspects were located and all stolen items were returned. One suspect is the same who was arrested for car theft. Charges are pending.

Nisswa Police Department

MOTORIST ASSISTS: Report on Jan. 20 of several vehicles in the ditch and on the side of the road at Polks Road and Highway 371, including a trailer on its side.

Eight reports over the course of the week of stuck vehicles or vehicles in the ditch, including two rollovers and one situation in which a semi truck was stuck in the Wendy’s parking lot, blocking cars from entering and exiting. The truck was pulled free by a towing company.

Lake Shore Police Department

ACCIDENTS: Report on Jan. 18 of a snowmobile crash on the snowmobile trail east of Zorbaz on Gull Lake. The driver lost control of the snowmobile and hit a tree head-on. The snowmobile was a complete loss but the driver was not injured.

Several vehicles in the ditch were assisted over the course of the week due to icy roads and drivers traveling too fast for conditions.
