The Parent Aware Rating System has certified the Pequot Lakes School Readiness, Learning Is Fun and Extended Day Stay and Play programs as meeting its Four Star Rating, which is the top level of certification for a program.

As a result of the Parent Aware rating, eligible families that enroll a preschool-aged child in one of these programs are eligible to apply for scholarship funding to pay for the early learning services.

Eligibility is based on family income and the preschool child being enrolled in an early learning or child care program. Families that qualify for free or reduced price school meals are eligible for this scholarship.

Contact Sarah Tabaka, early childhood program coordinator for the Pequot Lakes Schools-based early learning programs, at 218-562-7520 for an application form. Tabaka will help families complete the form and send it to the regional review service.

Families also may stop at the Early Childhood Family Education office on the east end of Eagle View Elementary School to meet with Tabaka.

Minnesota has committed to providing high quality early learning options for families throughout the state. This is a new source of funding to support the top quality rating for the learning program.
