Minor injuries reported in head-on crash

Several people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday, Nov. 27, after a car and minivan collided head-on at 8:05 a.m. north of Merrifield on County Road 3 in front of Clow Stamping, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The driver of the car, Luther Hoskins II, 18, Brainerd, was traveling northbound on County Road 3 attempting to turn into Clow Stamping when he struck a southbound minivan head-on. Hoskins had to be extricated from his car and was transported by ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd with minor injuries.

The driver of the minivan, Charles Anderson, 36, Merrifield, along with his wife, Miranda Anderson, 35, and their three children, ages 7, 5 and 18 months, were transported to Essentia Health in Brainerd with minor injuries.

All parties involved in the collision were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Assisting the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Nisswa and Mission fire departments, North Memorial Ambulance, and North Memorial Aircare.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
