Local non-profits fundraise on Give to the Max Day
Several Pine River area nonprofits encouraged giving on Thursday, Nov. 14, by wearing costumes and waving signs on the corner of Barclay Avenue and Highway 371.
Nov. 14 was Give to the Max Day, in which Minnesota residents are encouraged to give to nonprofits through givemn.org. The website has raised more than $75 million for nonprofits in the state so far. Nonprofits from across the lakes area fundraised through the website on Give to the Max Day.
The Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) received more than 260 donations, the Warehouse in Pine River raised more than $5,000, the Pine River-Backus Family Center had 55 donations, the Working Together Coalition raised more than $350, the Pine River Dam Park raised $1,450, Crosslake Community School received 107 donations, Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) received 403 donations and another HART fundraiser for medical supplies raised $1,320, according to the givemn.org website.
All those nonprofits, and many more, are still accepting donations through www.givemn.org.
