Lake Shore may offer controlled deer hunt next year

The city of Lake Shore won’t have a special deer hunt this year to reduce the deer population, but may offer a controlled hunt next year.

Jim Thomes, public works supervisor, told the city council Monday, Oct. 28, that he talked to someone from a northern Minnesota city that conducted such an intensive deer harvest. That city worked with the DNR to set up the hunt. Those who wanted to participate first had to take a class.
