Cut Lake trail cleaning

Members of the Lake Country Nordic Ski Club hosted a fall trail clearing day Saturday, Oct. 26, at Cut Lake Trail, west of Pine River on County 2. Pictured are Ski Club members Paul Virden, Mike Laputka, Alison Edgerton, Dave Edgerton and Don Hoppe. Trail clearing included removing fallen trees and brush from the trail in anticipation of the winter cross country skiing season. Hiram and Goose Lake trail cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2. Volunteers will meet at the trail parking lot at 9 a.m. Wear blaze orange and bring hand tools to help clear brush. The Lake Country Nordic Ski Club is a non-profit organization organized to promoted classical cross country skiing and to maintain and groom cross country ski trails in Cass County.
