Bohme details gangsters of Minnesota
Master historian and storyteller Alan Bohme will talk about gangsters of Minnesota in a class from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Pequot Lakes High School.
There are many gangsters who worked primarily out of St. Paul. In this informational and entertaining class students will learn about the gangsters who spent time at Breezy Point to deliver booze to the resorts and then ship the rest to Chicago. Criminals who were known in this area include Alvin Karpis, Dillinger, The Barkers and Homer VanMeter.
This class will also highlight the Great Brainerd Bank Robbery of the 1930s.
