Halloween events abound in area

Trunk or Treat at Our Savior’s

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes will host a Trunk or Treat event from 6-8 p.m. Halloween night in the parking lot at Our Savior’s. 

With trunks open and decorated, trick or treaters will be greeted with goodies.

Pequot Lakes

The Pequot Lakes American Legion Post 49 family will give out goodie bags on Halloween night from 4:30 p.m. until gone. The goodies are geared for children up to age 11.

Grace UMC Halloween Carnival

Grace United Methodist Church of Pequot Lakes invites children of the community to attend a Halloween Carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.

Children, from toddlers to upper elementary age, may purchase tickets to participate in carnival games, face painting, a cake walk and cherry tree.

It will be a non-frightening experience for the little ones and costumes are welcome. Lunch will be available for purchase in the fellowship hall.

Grace United Methodist Church is 1.7 miles south of the stoplight in Pequot Lakes on Highway 371.

Pumpkin Fun Night at Eagle View

Preschool age children and their parents and families are invited to an evening of Pumpkin Fun from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Eagle View Elementary School in Breezy Point.

The event will include a pizza supper, craft activities, books in a story area, preschool games and large motor activities in the gym. Costumes are welcome.

Call Sarah at 218-562-7520 to register. A donation of $2 per person is requested to cover the cost of the pizza.

Parents will be encouraged to attend a short presentation on bullying prevention.

Each family attending the Pumpkin Fun night will receive a free book to take home for family reading fun.

Pine River Good Samaritan

The Pine River Good Samaritan Halloween Party will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31. The party will feature fun, games, prizes and candy.

Fall Family Fun Fest in Backus

Pine Mountain Gospel is hosting a Fall Family Fun Fest from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The whole family is invited for a fun night of games and treats. The Fun Fest is presented by the PMG Youth Group. Pine Mountain Gospel is located at the Old Backus School.

Haunted Hallway

AmericInn Lodge and Suites in Pequot Lakes/Jenkins is hosting its eighth annual Haunted Hallway from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

Kids ages 12 and younger will have a warm and safe environment on Halloween. There will be games for kids in the meeting room as well as hay rides.

Admission is $2 per child and all proceeds go to the local Christmas for Kids program. Each child also gets a free swim pass.

Nisswa American Legion

The Nisswa American Legion Post will have its annual Children’s Halloween Party from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Nisswa American Legion Post.

All children ages 12 and younger are invited to attend. Dress up in your Halloween costumes and enjoy games, decorations and treats.

Monster Dash

The fourth annual Crosslake Monster Dash 5K is scheduled Oct. 26 at the Crosslake Community Center. The day will get under way at 8:30 a.m. with registration. At 9:30 a.m., the children’s Spirit Sprint will begin for ages 4-10. Children who register for the Spirit Sprint will receive a long-sleeved shirt, refreshments and candy. At 9:45 a.m., the supervised children’s program with fun activities will be held inside the community center while parents participate in the Dash.

At 10:15 a.m., the Monster Dash will begin. Registrants will receive a long-sleeved shirt, refreshments and the chance to win prizes.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Park and Library Foundation of Crosslake (PAL).

Registration is $30. Registration for the children’s Spirit Sprint is $20.

Registration for the kids does not include the 5K race. If children would like to participate in both the 5K and the Spirit Sprint they must register in the adult division.

Spooktacular Party in Crosslake

The 14th annual Spooktacular Children’s Halloween Party with games, prizes and candy will run from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Crosslake Community Center, sponsored by the local Lions Clubs.
