Litzau released again in Pine River
Level 3 predatory sex offender Robert Arthur Litzau, 71, was scheduled to move again to Pine River on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Litzau intends to live on 24th Avenue Southwest in rural Pine River, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. This is the same address where he lived last January after serving time for a 2011 violation of predatory offender registration requirements and burglary of a dwelling.
Litzau’s appearance and offender information has not changed since his last release so there was no community meeting for his release.
Litzau was rearrested Aug. 19 for violating the conditions of his release by failing to register as a predatory offender.
He has a history of related offenses starting in 1998 with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charges involving a 15-year-old male from Crow Wing County. He was sentenced to a minimum jail sentence of 12 months and one day. He was charged in 2008 for failure to register as a predatory offender, and in 2011 for driving an unregistered vehicle as well as various other charges.
Litzau is under restrictions from the Minnesota Department of Corrections. He will be under supervision until 2023 and will be required to register as a sex offender until 2033.
The sheriff’s office has Litzau’s release information and a public fact sheet available online at www.casssheriff.com and on its Facebook page. The sheriff’s office also was to issue a Nixle instant notification release.
