Lakes Bluegrass Festival receives $12,000 grants
The Lakes Bluegrass Festival in Pine River received a $12,524 grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board for 2014.
The grant is one of 88 the Minnesota State Arts Board awarded to Minnesota artists, organizations and arts presenters through the Arts Learning, Folk and Traditional Arts, and Minnesota Festival Support grant programs.
These grants support lifelong learning in the arts, the preservation and presentation of Minnesota’s folk arts and traditions, and festivals that celebrate the arts. The grants are estimated to serve 341,589 community members.
Arts Learning, Folk and Traditional Arts, and Minnesota Festival Support grant programs are funded by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature to the Minnesota State Arts Board from the State’s arts and cultural heritage fund.
The bluegrass festival grant is part of the state arts board’s 2014 Minnesota Festival Support program, which awarded $474,492 to 17 grantees to engage Minnesotans in festivals that celebrate the arts, build community and expose communities to diverse art forms.
Minnesota festivals receiving Minnesota State Arts Board support in 2014 will feature more than 2,273 artists and attract more than a quarter of a million youth and adult participants from host cities, other Minnesota communities and the Midwest.
