Pequot Lakes Police Chief Eric Klang along with the Pequot Lakes Police Department reminds community members that September is National Preparedness Month.
Every city, town, community, business, school or home is at some risk from a natural disaster or major disruption and everyone should be ready and prepared for it.
Part of this preparation is bringing attention to it by talking to family members and friends. Discussing and having an action plan in place before an emergency actually happens will not only help you to be ready but your community as well.
Being prepared doesn’t just fall on local first responders and law enforcement. The whole community can participate in programs and activities to make their families, homes and communities safer from risks and threats.
Authorities need the community’s help to ensure a safer community by volunteering, being trained and informed. Find out more at http://www.cdc.gov/features/beready/
