Central Lakes Rotary to conduct Rose Sale

The Central Lakes Rotary Club will conduct its annual Rose Sale from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1.

Roses will be pre-sold for $18/dozen with proceeds benefiting many local community projects in Pequot Lakes and Pine River.

Pick-up of roses will be Oct. 10 and 11 at the following locations: Super America (Pequot Lakes), Pequot Lakes High School, Triangle 76 (Nisswa), Reed’s Market (Crosslake), Family Market (Pine River) and Pine River-Backus High School.

This year’s colors are red and lollipop, and roses can be purchased from any Central Lakes Rotary member or by contacting Ruth Talbot at 218-851-3316.

Central Lakes Rotary is also beginning its S.T.R.I.V.E. (Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education) Program at Pine River-Backus High School this month. High school seniors enrolled in the program will meet twice a month to hear speakers on various topics, including “Positive Thinking,” “Perseverance/Self-Worth,” “Making Choices” and “Career Planning.”

Central Lakes Rotary will provide scholarships to S.T.R.I.V.E. students at the end of the year.

Central Lakes Rotary meets at 7:15 a.m. Tuesdays at the Brenny Reception Room in Pequot Lakes for its weekly breakfast meeting, which includes a program. For more information about Central Lakes Rotary, visit or contact Diane Collins at 218-568-6027.
