Plant and tree photo contest winners

The Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) announces the 2013 Summer Plant & Tree Photo Contest winners.

Photo contest participants submitted 30 photos, with some featuring wildlife.

The six winners for the summer 2013 photo contest are: first, Deanie Nelson, Marsh Milkweed, Monarch; second, Elva Schack, Butterflyweed, Monarch; third, Dawn Hines, Butterflyweed; fourth, Nelson, Canada Anemone; fifth, Nelson, Butterflyweed, Bee; sixth, Susan Schaefer Davis, Marsh Milkweed.

All photos were taken in Crow Wing County.

Photographers of all ages and abilities were invited to submit photos for the Native Plant Photo Contest. All entries were judged by the Brainerd Chapter of the Wild Ones-Native Plants Natural Landscapes.

The top six entries will receive a 2014 Tree Sale Native Plant gift certificate. The winning entries will be featured in a monthly e-newsletter to landowners in Crow Wing County and one entry will be selected to be framed and raffled to visitors of the 2014 Crow Wing County Fair.
