Ole & Lena's presents check to Disabled American Veterans

The $500 proceeds from a July 6 Patriotic Party at Pine River’s Ole & Lena’s Sweet Revenge was presented to Chapter 22 DAV Commander Ed Nelson on Aug. 15.

This check represented 50 percent of the proceeds raised from alcohol and pizza sales at the July 6 celebration. The funds are to be used strictly for veterans and the family of veterans.

The event featured red, white, and blue jello shots, among other drink specials. As many as 200 people visited the bar that day, said Ole & Lena employees.

This is the first DAV fund raiser to be held at Ole & Lena’s. The establishment has had a hand in various other charitable events and organizations including school and after school programs, the Dam Park Fundraiser, and the Miss Pine River Pageant.

Nelson offered his personal thanks to Ole & Lena’s. The staff of Ole & Lena’s offered their thanks to the Nelson and the DAV.
