The sixth annual Purple Elephant Run/Walk was held in Trailside Park on Saturday morning, Aug. 10, to celebrate the life of Dru Sjodin, a Pequot Lakes High School graduate who was abducted and murdered while a student at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

The races included a 5K race, 10K race and a Kids Fun Run. After the races, a raffle was held at Trailside Park with donated prizes from supporters and sponsors.

Race proceeds benefit the Dru Sjodin Foundation and radKIDS, an organization that promotes awareness and knowledge of violence against women and children.
