Chokecherries take center state at Pequot Lakes festival

The sixth annual Chokecherry Festival was held at Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes on Saturday, Aug. 10, featuring food vendors and business booths along the Paul Bunyan Trail.

The festival, sponsored by the Pequot Lakes-Breezy Point Lions Club, also featured children’s games such as a bean bag toss and fish pond.

In keeping with the chokecherry theme, a Chokecherry Culinary Contest and a chokecherry pit-spitting contest were also part of the day’s festivities.
