Backus Legion Auxiliary awards Corn Fest raffle prizes

The Backus American Legion Auxiliary awarded 25 prizes in its Corn Fest raffle, many of them donated by area businesses.

Among the winners were Myrna Dunnuck, a Magic Chef freezer and $50 meat bundle; Wayne Hanson, 12 yards of Class 5 gravel, donated by Schrupp Excavating; Joe Engels, one pizza every month for a year, donated by Lucette’s Pizza & Pub of Hackensack; Bryan McAllister, 12 yards of Class 5 gravel donated by Northfork Excavating; Ken LaBore, a 24-inch HDTV; Jeanyne Alderson, a 35,000 BTU, three-burner grill donated by Backus Lumber; and Sandy Reno, a bear statue from Red Pine Log Homes.

Other prize winners and participating businesses are posted at the Legion clubrooms and online at Proceeds help fund Corn Fest.
