Nisswa Area Historical Society to present program on local inventor

Email

Barbara Kletschka, sister of the late Dr. Harold Kletschka, will talk about life growing up on the north shore of Lake Hubert at a Nisswa Area Historical Society program at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the Itasca Room of the Gull Lake Center at Grand View Lodge.

Dr. Kletschka was educated in the one-room Lake Hubert schoolhouse and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota Medical School, beating tremendous odds to become “father” of the artificial heart.
