Depot's centennial to be celebrated Sept. 6 with tea

Aug. 15 is ticket deadline for Tea at the Station

Aug. 15 is the deadline to buy tickets for Tea at the Station, a Petticoat Junction Function, which will be Friday, Sept. 6, at the Historic Pine River Depot in honor of the 1913-2013 centennial celebration of the depot.

Heritage Group North will present the ladies tea reminiscent of the 1913 time period from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 6 as a kickoff to Heritage Days. Participants should bring their own tea cup and saucer. Hats and gloves are welcome and optional. Prizes will be given for the best hat, as well as other surprises.

A program will include remarks by local historian and archeologist Douglas Birk.

Tickets are $25 per person. Make checks out to Heritage Group North and send to Alison Stephens, Box 520, Pine River, MN 56474.

Seating is limited. Respond no later than Aug. 15. Tickets will be mailed.
