Community garden to host open house

The Pine River-Backus Community Garden is hosting an open house as part of the statewide Community Garden Day on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., with a rain date of Thursday, Aug. 15.

Please join us behind the school at the community garden to sample tastes from the garden and learn more about gardening and how the Family Center garden is supporting the food.

The PR-B Community Garden hosts 32 gardeners this year, using most of the 50 available plots, and is full of green everywhere. The garden this year is being well maintained and gardeners are busily preparing and beautifying for visitors on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

To get to the garden, follow signs off Highway 371 at County Road 42 past the high school and turn into the back high school parking lot, drive past the north side garages and turn left on the worn dirt drive.

Sample veggies from the garden and tour all the gardens that are growing. For more information contact PR-B Community Education at 218-587-2080.
