Crow Wing County Fair boasts full lineup of activities, entertainment

The Crow Wing County Fair will be held Tuesday-Saturday, July 30 to Aug. 3, at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.

The fairgrounds will officially open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30. There is no admission charge for the fair; however, parking in the south parking lot is $3 and inside the grounds is $5.


Carnival rides will be open from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30; noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, July 31-Aug. 2; and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

Tuesday, July 30

Tuesday is Military Day. The Dirt Road Prophets will perform from 1-3:30 p.m. on the Mills Free Stage. At 5:30 p.m. the opening ceremonies and the parade of colors will take place. Then, from 6-10 p.m., Sherwin Linton will perform on the Mills Free Stage. At 7 p.m. in the grandstand is the Demolition Derby.

Wednesday, July 31

Wednesday is Senior Day. At 10:30 a.m. is the Great Northern Model T Club & The Old Homestead Power Tractor Club Parade. Senior Day recognition will occur at noon. From 1-4:30 p.m. Country Times-Henry Stockert will perform on the Mills Free Stage followed by the Alan Godage Band playing classic country music from 6-10 p.m. In the grandstand at 7 p.m. is Moto Cross.

Thursday, Aug. 1

Thursday is Agriculture Day. The Waltzeteers Band will play from 1-3:30 p.m. on the Mills Free Stage. The Kids Pedal Pull is at 4 p.m. and Maiden Dixie will perform from 6-10 p.m. on the Mills Free Stage. At 7 p.m. in the grandstand are the Baja Rally Races.

Friday, Aug. 2

Friday is Teen Day and talent contest. The Pre-Teen Talent Contest is at 1 p.m. followed by the Teen Talent Contest at 3 p.m. and the Open Class Talent Contest at 5 p.m. All of the talent contests will be held on the Mills Free Stage. The teen dance with DJ Kris Lambke will run from 7-10 p.m. At 7 p.m. in the grandstand are the Baja Rally Races.

Saturday, Aug. 3

Saturday is Kids’ Day. The Dig for Nickels is at 10:30 a.m., the Veggie Derby is at 11:30 a.m. The Antique Tractor Parade is at noon. Minnow Races are at 1:30 p.m. followed by the 4-H Dog Exhibition from 3-4 p.m. Dazzling Dave, a national yo-yo master, will have shows at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the Northland Stage. Ray’s Promenaders-Square Dancing will be from 4:30-6 p.m. on the Mills Free Stage. Dance competition finals will be at 7 p.m. dancing to the music of the country band Wanted, which will perform from 7-10 p.m., also on the Mills Free Stage. At 7 p.m. in the grandstand is “Dirt Kickin’ Wicked Good” Bull Riding.
