Commercial Club met Tues. Eve., Plan Park Dedication...The waterfront, which affords one of the finest swimming spots in the state of Minnesota, was built up by WPA labor through the cooperation of the village council, is one of the beauty spots of the village.

Slot machine vandals looted the Bungalo Cafe Friday night. When arriving to open for Saturday’s business in the morning, it was found that two windows in the kitchen had been smashed to gain entrance.

During the regular meeting of the Pine River City Council Tuesday, July 12, Police Chief Steve Abraham reported that a statute was found stating that it is illegal to double park.

A NEW BUILDING IS being erected at the Cass County fairgrounds. It will be another commercial building.

Bruce Brunes from Interlake Cablevision in Pequot Lakes spoke to the Backus City Council during their regular council meeting Monday, July 11. The city voted to award a non-exclusive franchise to Interlake Cablevision.

Nearly 30 Pine River business owners filed a petition with the Pine River City Council two weeks ago, requesting that the recently completed changes in downtown parking be restored.

Over 1,200 members of the Minnesota American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary will gather in Pequot Lakes from July 11-13 for their annual state convention.
