After 319 Turtle Racers, championship races end in ties

The turtles were fast, the competition was stiff on Wednesday, June 26, in downtown Longville. At the end of a full day of racing, both the Grand Slowpoke and Grand Champion races ended in ties. Eight racers competed in the Chamber Resort Race and another 319 raced in the regular heats.

Turtle races will be held every Wednesday through Aug. 21 in downtown Longville. Race registration and the contests and games open at 1 p.m. The Chamber Resort Race is held at 2 p.m., followed by the regular turtle races. Painted turtles can be rented or you can bring your own.
