The Pequot Lakes School Board accepted the resignations of nine staff members at its meeting Monday night, June 17.
Meghan Kazmierczak, high school teacher, and Brian Kazmierczak, district technology integrationist and head girls’ track coach, are both resigning as Brian has accepted a principal position at another school.
High school teachers Melissa Schmeck and Lindsey Kaiser also resigned.
Teacher resignations at Eagle View Elementary School include Allison Reigel, elementary teacher/literacy coordinator, and Jennifer Virnig, elementary teacher.
Paraprofessionals Kenna Grater and Kelli Levenske also resigned, as did bus driver Mike Chapman.
The board thanked all resigning staff members for their service.
In other business Monday, the board:
• Accepted the preliminary 2013-14 budget. Business manager Lea St. Onge described the budget as a forecast, and noted that the district is required by state law to adopt the preliminary budget by July 1.
• Accepted bids from Pan-O-Gold for bread and Aitkin Dairy for milk.
• Raised the price of school lunches, as required by law. Due to federal mandate, lunch prices must increase by at least 10 cents. Lunch prices are now $2.15 for grades K-4, $2.40 for grades 5-12 and $3.30 for adults. Breakfast prices remain the same, at $1.55 for students and $2.40 for adults, and extra milk remains the same price at 25 cents each.
