A new doctor, Dr. Michael Musty, started at the Pine River Clinic on July 1.

Cheryl Tweed, of Pequot Lakes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tweed, received the St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing Centennial Club Award for 1973. The award was given in honor of the 100th anniversary of hospital schools of nursing.

The Nisswa Pickle Factory women’s slow-pitch team increased its Crosslake League record to 2-0 after a victory over the Brother’s Lodge team at Crosslake.

Jim Lee has re-joined the staff at KTIG as the station manager after a short break where he worked to get KTIG’s sister station, KBHW in International Falls, on the air.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church finished adding a 25-foot high steeple, 40 years after the church building was completed in 1953.

The Crosslake-Ideal Lions donated a $20,000 computer filing system to the Pequot Lakes school library to replace the old index card system.

(Advertisement) The Paul Bunyan Amusement Center in Baxter will close on Labor Day after 53 years of operation.

Eugene and Alvina Kennedy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, June 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes.
