Pequot Lakes Library patrons can access catalog on Internet

Anyone with access to a computer can now access the Pequot Lakes Community Library catalog. Following are the steps to use:

Open your browser. Then open Click on “Online Catalog.” On the third line down from the top, click on the underlined, blue-lettered “Pequot Lakes Community Library.” Next window, click on “Catalog” (second line down).

You’re now able to find out if the library has the book you want by keyword, title, author, subject or series book. For instance, if you want a book by Ernest Hemingway, enter “Hemingway, Ernest” in the space labeled “Find.” Then click on “Author.” Wait, and momentarily, all books at the library written by Ernest Hemingway will be listed.

The list will also show if the book you want is available. If the entry says, “1 of 1 available,” that means the library has one copy of the book and it is in the library. If it says “0 of 1 available,” that means the library has one copy of the book and it is checked out to another patron, etc.

For now, patrons cannot reserve a book online, but may call the library at 568-6181 and ask a volunteer to put it on reserve.

The library board and volunteers are proud of this new feature that came about because of an update in the software that was purchased by special friends of the library. If you have any questions about accessing the catalog, come in to the library or call 218-568-6181.
