Increasing the chlorine level in the city’s water in an attempt to fix a problem with brown water in Pequot Lakes had bait dealers complaining of minnow and leech losses.

(Photo) Bruce Thompson of the Pequot Lakes-Nisswa Indians is greeted at home plate after one of his two homeruns in their Memorial Day 8-6 loss to Backus. Thompson had a double, a single and two homers in five at bats in the game.

Dana Spies was the valedictorian and Maria Thiede was the salutatorian for the Pequot Lakes High School class of 1993, which had 56 graduates.

Both Martin’s Sports Shop and Bertha Boatworks-Ideal Corners women’s softball teams were winners on Monday, May 24, in the Brainerd Women’s League.
