The Central Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge’s (MnTC) outpatient program, Life Renewal, is moving.

“This program has grown out of its current space, so we are moving it into a larger facility at the corner of Sixth and Oak streets in Brainerd,” said Sam Anderson, MnTC Center director.

Now in its second year, the program has expanded to include three full-time counselors and offers afternoon and evening groups for women and men. Life Renewal is a licensed outpatient chemical dependency program that focuses on client’s strengths.

Director Jamie Lange said, “Life Renewal is designed for people whose lives are hindered by drug or alcohol abuse or addictions. We want to help as many people as we can live fuller lives free from drugs and alcohol.”

The program also satisfies state requirements for DUI offenders to reinstate drivers’ licenses. Counselors cooperate with probation and parole officers to satisfy court-ordered chemical dependency treatment.

They also receive referrals from county social services, health insurance companies and pastors. The program is 12-step based, and both traditional and faith-based components are available.

The eight-week program consists of 10 hours of treatment services each week, including group and class. Each group session combines one hour of education with two hours of therapy. In addition, each client receives an individual counseling session weekly.

MnTC exists to assist teens and adults in breaking-free from their addictions by addressing their spiritual, emotional and physical needs. Organization officials said their wide range of offerings allows them to serve people with a broad spectrum of addiction issues. MnTC currently houses close to 500 clients in eight facilities including Minneapolis, Duluth and Brainerd.

The Life Renewal Outpatient program is located at 603 Oak St. in Brainerd. For more information, call 218-833-8777.
