Nisswa Children's Library summer reading program detailed

Children are invited to join the Nisswa Community Children’s Library’s 2013 summer reading program with the theme “Dig Into Reading.”

Registration is now open for the program, which takes place at 10 a.m. Wednesdays from June 12 to July 31, with no program on July 3.

Children will earn prizes and a free book, and will celebrate reading with a pizza party.

Program details are as follows: On June 12, Black Bear 4-H Club baby farm animals petting zoo; June 19, musician Ted Feyder; June 26, DNR conservation officer Nikki Shoutz with animal hides; July 10, artist Michelle Pfeiffer; July 17, Northern Trackers Railroad Club; July 24, magicians Robert and Lynn Halbrook; and on July 31, juggling with Jon Adams and friends as well as a Rafferty’s pizza party celebration. Children will also pick out a free paperback book.

The library expressed thanks to the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, Nisswa Women of Today and the Crow Wing Power Community Trust for sponsoring this year’s program.

Nisswa Community Children’s Library summer hours begin Tuesday, June 4: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
