PR-B students help prepare park bathroom structure for paint

The Pine River Area Foundation (PRAF) would like to thank the following Pine River-Backus High School students for helping clean and scrape the Dam Park bathroom structure this past Saturday: Troy Fetter, Zach Struss, Henry Krecklau, Tony Peterson and Joe Johnson.

Thanks to the thoughtfulness of these students, this project is on schedule to be painted in the coming weeks.

The PRAF, along with volunteers from the following organizations — Dam Park Task Force, Pine River Chamber of Commerce, Working Together Coalition/Teens Leading the Way, Pine River Revitalization Group, Heritage Group North and the Pine River Fire Department — have partnered to clean, scrape and repaint the Dam Park bathroom structure inside and out and then paint murals on the exterior walls of the facility.

Another part of this project will be to clean, scrape and paint murals on 20 metal trash cans sprinkled throughout town.

Also part of this project will be to apply touch up paint to the exterior of the Pine River Railway Depot and put another coat of polyurethane on the freight room floor.

Currently we are looking for talented designers to submit proposals having the following theme ideas: Pine River History, Up North, Family Friendly, Natural Elements, or Community Pride. We are looking for designs for all four sides of the bathroom structure as well as the 20 trash cans.

For more information on how to submit a proposal, contact Quinn Swanson at
