Home gardens sought for Crosslake in Bloom tour

The Crosslake in Bloom committee is seeking home gardens in Crosslake to be a part of the July 18 garden tour.

Whether vegetable, flower, shoreland restoration or water features, gardens on the tour do not need to be “over the top” but rather gardens that can be enjoyed on the tour and offer ideas that participants can incorporate in their own yards.

The committee is also looking for landscapers and/or businesses who offer garden-related products and services to be a part of the vendor exhibits that take place before and after the luncheon, which will be at Pine Peaks Retreat and Event Center on July 18.

Also, businesses are sought to participate in the Crosslake in Bloom Scavenger Hunt, which will return for its second year.

Participants pick up game pieces at participating Crosslake businesses and then “hunt” for garden-related items specially marked with the Crosslake in Bloom logo in local businesses.

The Scavenger Hunt will begin Memorial Day weekend and end July 17.

Participating businesses are asked to donate a garden-related item for the prize drawing.
