Crow Wing County seeks public comment on land use ordinance revisions

The Crow Wing County Land Services Department requests public comment on proposed revisions to the county land use ordinance.

The ordinance revisions can be viewed on the county website at by clicking on the “CWC Listens” button on the home page.

Written comments on the proposed changes will be accepted until May 27 and may be submitted to the Environmental Services Office at or mailed to 322 Laurel St., Suite 14, Brainerd, MN 56401.

A public hearing for the review of the proposed revisions to the land use ordinance is set for 5 p.m. June 20 before the planning commission in the County Board Room on the third floor of the Historic Courthouse in Brainerd.

The planning commission will make a recommendation on the proposed ordinance revision to the county board for final approval at the July 9 meeting.

There are two articles in the ordinance that are being revised: Article 9 –Subdivision Ordinance; and Article 46 – Definitions.

The ordinance revisions include clarifying language for number of lots required for a plat or minor subdivision. The ordinance also clarifies application requirements, improvements required in a plat and additional definitions.
