Area organizations partner to host one-stop donation drop-off day

The Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 20, by hosting a one-stop donation drop-off day.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Common Goods, Salem West, The Shop, JKL Recycling, Kinship Partners, Camp Confidence, The Salvation Army and the Habitat ReStore will accept a wide variety of donations.

Examples of acceptable items to donate include: building materials, furniture, appliances, cabinets, household goods, sporting equipment, e-waste (some fees may apply), clothing, books, bikes and more.

Shoppers will have a chance to learn about the impact of these area non-profit re-use stores, take advantage of special sales and have a brat lunch.

The ReStore is a retail store that sells new and used donated building supplies and is located at 1110 Wright St., across from the Brainerd Armory.

All proceeds will go to help support the mission of building simple, decent and affordable housing in Cass, Crow Wing and Hubbard counties.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
