Email News Alerts

Crow Wing County property owners are receiving their annual notices for property valuation and classification.

Each notice lists the assessed value of the property along with the tax classification. These assessments are used to calculate 2014 property taxes.

“It is very important property owners read and understand these notices because changes to a property’s assessment can impact property taxes the next year,” said Gary Griffin, Land Services supervisor for property valuation and classification.

This year property owners will see value notices and tax statements mailed together. By mailing the notices and statements together the county estimates to save $18,000 a year in postage and additional staff time. This will also enhance the understanding for customers on overall tax process.

Griffin encourages taxpayers to contact the property valuation and classification office with any questions they may have about their properties valuation or classification.

The office is in Brainerd on the main floor of the Land Services Building on Laurel Street. Call 218-824-1010, email assessor.office@crowwing.us or visit the website at www.crowwing.us.
