The local post of the VFW is sponsoring an Old Time Fiddlers Contest and FREE DANCE on Saturday evening, March 19. At 6:30 p.m., they will hold a past commanders banquet at the armory, for members in this district.

Don’t forget that Whoopee John and his radio recording orchestra, together with Edna the Dutch Girl, and Pat the Comedian, will be in Pine River on April 19.

The Pine River Laundromat was robbed early Saturday morning of last week, when the automatic change machine was torn from the wall and taken away by thieves.

Two separate fires on Sunday, March 13, caused thousands of dollars of damage to propery. Two families were left homeless at the same time.

If you have considered making a donation of food or money to our local Food Shelf at any time, now is the best time to do it. March is Minnesota FoodShare Month, which is a drive to replenish the cupboards of food shelves across the state.
