Miss Pine River Pageant is April 6

This year the 34th annual Miss Pine River Pageant will be held Saturday, April 6 at the Pine River-Backus High School Old Gym. This year’s theme is “A Red Carpet Affair.” The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the pageant begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free for ages six and under.

This year’s pageant features nine girls: Amanda Fleming, Joanna Richards, Candice Zaczkowski, Kasey Helms, Sophie Williams, Darlene Hanson Manley, Kristle Peltier, Katrina Adkins, and Jamie Eastman. Participants will participate in a personal interview, a presentation of casual business wear, a talent show, and evening gowns.

Participants are competing for scholarships to be awarded following completion of their first college term. Miss Pine River will be awarded $1,000, first princess will be awarded $400, second princess will receive $300, and miss congeniality will receive $50. In addition to helping to pay for higher education, the Miss Pine River Pageant is meant to promote the Pine River area.
