Crow Wing to interview applicants for community services director

Crow Wing County has narrowed the field of candidates it is considering for the top post in community services to two finalists. The Crow Wing County Board interviewed the two finalists for the Director of Community Services vacancy on Tuesday, March 12.

Candidate interest has been strong with more than 60 applicants.

The selection committee composed of Commissioners Rosemary Franzen and Rachel Nystrom, Administrator Tim Houle, Auditor-Treasurer Laureen Borden, Interim Director Mark Liedl and Human Resource Director Tamra Laska have kept the process on track to meet the March target for landing a director.

The finalists invited to interview with the county board are Larry Laudon of Bagley and Kara Terry of Champlin.

Laudon has a background in healthcare management, having served as the chief executive officer for Clearwater Health Services and vice president of physicians services for Riverview Healthcare. Laudon earned his undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University and attended the University of Minnesota Masters in Healthcare Administration program.

Terry has held a variety of leadership positions within Hennepin County’s Human Service and Public Health Departments, most recently serving as the manager of the central planning unit. Terry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management and a Master’s degree in business administration.
