Web-based seminar focuses on social-emotional development in early years
The Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point and Crosslake Early Childhood Coalition will host a webinar on social-emotional skills development in the early years from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13.
Social-emotional skills are important preparation for school, career and life success. The foundation for strong social-emotional skills development begins in a child’s early years.
This presentation will describe social-emotional development as it pertains to young children and discuss elements crucial to healthy social and emotional development. The presentation will describe ways in which parents and caregivers can support social-emotional development in their growing child, as well as ways to identify if development is off track.
The presentation will include video clips of positive social-emotional development and examples of screening instruments that can be used to screen for social-emotional development.
The webinar presentation is hosted by Working Families Resource Center. The seminar is given by Lynnea Myers, registered nurse and a certified pediatric nurse practitioner.
The web training is free.
