Lakes Area Restorative Justice Program offers training
Lakes Area Restorative Justice Program’s (LARJP) mission is to restore the community after a crime has been committed.
Far-reaching benefits are derived when victims, offenders and community come together to resolve crimes.
LARJP is growing and expanding into new areas. Sign up for one of the 30 training seats and attend facilitator training. The three-day LARJP training will be from 3:30-9:30 p.m. April 26, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 and noon to 6 p.m. April 28 at 424 N.W. Third St., Brainerd.
Join the team of volunteers working to make a difference in the lives of crime victims and youth in lakes area communities. Volunteers generally donate about 10 to 15 hours per case and accept four or five cases per year. Cases can be scheduled at the volunteer’s convenience. Volunteers work in pairs and will be mentored by LARJP staff.
Volunteers need to be age 21, have their own transportation, have a desire to help their community and must complete 20 hours of training as well as attend three ongoing in-services per year.
