Council denies police officer's grievance

The Pequot Lakes City Council has denied a grievance brought by Pequot Lakes police officer Josh Gartner.

The council met in closed session Tuesday, Feb. 25, at city hall for nearly two hours to give preliminary consideration to allegations against an individual subject to the city’s authority.

The city confirmed that individual was Gartner. The city cited no comment when asked whether Gartner is currently suspended or was previously suspended, but acknowledged a complaint exists against him and was sustained.

Council member Dave Sjoblad was absent from the Feb. 25 meeting.
