Jenkins Township to consider new town hall

Jenkins Township will host its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Jenkins Town Hall to discuss and vote on building a new town hall.

“We’re thinking the town hall we have now has outlived its purpose,” said town clerk Bill Savage. “We don’t have an inside bathroom. We’d like inside water. It would be bigger. It’s cramped for some meetings.”

Savage said everyone who attends the annual township meeting will have a vote that night on whether to build a new town hall.

“It’s up to the voters of the township, the people,” he said.

The town board’s regular monthly meeting will be held after the annual meeting.

In case of inclement weather, the annual meeting will be a week later, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.
