The 22nd annual Men & Boys Wild Game Potluck and Banquet attracted approximately 300 to the Trailside Center at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church on Friday, Feb. 22, to celebrate hunting, fishing and God.

Den Pluimer spoke on the Christian outdoorsman’s responsibility to take care of the environment. Pluimer also informed the crowd that the number of hunters and anglers in Minnesota is on the rise. The population that hunts and fishes in Minnesota is only second to Alaska.

The event also included vendors, taxidermy displays, food and door prizes. Visitors enjoyed such dishes as elk, venison, pheasant and fish. Door prize prizes included hats, hunting knives, carving sets, a .410 gauge youth shotgun won by Kurk Johnson, and a ladder deer stand won by Jesse Hanson.
