Crosslake Community School holds Invention Fair

Email

Students at Crosslake Community School wracked their brains to come up with inventions to solve problems in their daily lives.

The projects, some of which began in November, culminated in an Invention Fair Thursday, Feb. 7, where students displayed their inventions and met with guest judges.

Guest judges from across the area perused the aisles of inventions, speaking with students and hearing about their inventions.

Teachers said the Invention Fair replaced the science fair of past years and meets new state teaching standards for engineering.

Grades four-eight participated in the fair. Winners were: fourth-fifth grades, Griffin Dahlberg in first, Matthew M. in second and Grace Bonfig in third; fifth-sixth grades, Sidney Veit in first, Taylor Schultz in second and Emily Brunkhorst in third; and seventh-eighth grades, Tori Popehn in first, Cole Gray in second and Veronica Hulke in third.
