Ruud appointed to Great Lakes Commission
State Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, was appointed to serve in the Minnesota delegation of the Great Lakes Commission.
Along with her appointment to the commission, Ruud was invited to attend the Great Lakes Commission semi-annual meeting in March in Washington, D.C.
“This will be a great opportunity to meet with regional policy makers and members of Congress who play a critical role in shaping Great Lakes policy. I look forward to meeting with these individuals and learning more about protecting and preserving one of our greatest natural resources,” said Ruud.
The Great Lakes Commission was established in 1955 by the Great Lakes Basin Compact and works to “promote the orderly, integrated, and comprehensive development, use, and conservation of the water resources of the Great Lakes Basin.”
The commission includes members from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
