Windy Extravaganza draws approx. 10,500 attendants


Wind gusts exceeding 40 miles per hour and below-zero wind chills did not deter approximately 10,500 people from attending the Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The Jaycees report having more than $200,000 in prizes for the event. Proceeds from the event go to the Confidence Learning Center and other local charities.

According to the Extravaganza website, the contest raised $100,198 from the 2012 competition.
