Deep Portage offers summer camps

Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack offers a wide variety of summer camps to suit almost any interest, including fishing, hunting, aquatics, adventure or expanding scientific horizons.

The following camps are offered:

• Forkhorn I Deer Hunting Camp (ages 11-16). Four sessions: June 9-14, June 16-21, July 21-26 (all girls), Aug. 4-9. Camp includes DNR firearms safety training and is sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

Cost is $400.

• Forkhorn II Deer Hunting Camp (ages 12-16). Two sessions: June 16-21 and July 7-12. Camp includes DNR bowhunter education training and is sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

Cost is $400.

• Forkhorn III Deer Hunting Camp (ages 13-16), July 28-Aug. 2. Camp includes DNR advanced hunter education training and is sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.

Cost is $400.

• Mini Camp (ages 9-16): July 1-3. Cost is $200.

• Fishing Camp (ages 12-16): July 1-3. Cost is $200.

• Young Women in Science Camp (ages 12-16): July 1-3. Cost is $200.

• Upland Bird Hunting Camp (ages 12-16): July 21-26. Camp is sponsored by the Ruffed Grouse Society and Pheasants Forever. Cost is $400.

• Izaak Walton League Camp (ages 9-16): July 28-Aug. 2. Cost is $400 per camper or $700 per grandparent/grandchild or parent/child.
