The next project is the installation of a swimming beach. This beach will be located north of the fishing pier and will provide a gentler, safer slope into the water and a fun, sandy playing area for everyone including families, young children and people with mobility challenges.

The beach design and construction plan have been created by architectural and engineering firm Widseth Smith Nolting. The design and construction plan are available for interested contractors to review and submit estimates.

These documents can be picked up, mailed or emailed. Contact Quinn for information at 218-587-5001 or Quinn@hugllc.com. Estimates must be submitted by Feb. 15.

The Dam Park Task Force is striving for installation of the beach this spring. This timeline is contingent on funding.

If you are interested in supporting the beach, consider the “Buy a Brick” Campaign where you purchase either a retaining wall brick for $25 or a capstone block for $200. The capstone cost includes three lines of up to 15 characters for a personalized message.

In addition to the brick campaign, the third annual Walleye Fish Fry will take place May 18 at the Pine River Legion.

The Dam Park Task Force meets at 5 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Hunt Utilities Group Campus. All are welcome.
